Woodland critters is a VR narrative that critiques the personification of animals within children's animation. Animals are portrayed as cute, cuddly often ignoring the true nature of the animals.
Within the short narrative, the player quickly loses trusts in the friendly owl. Although initially cute and non-threatening, the woodland creature eventually reveals its true intentions.
CYST POPPING SIMULATOR
Inspired by the “OMG biggest pimple ever” style youTube videos, the cyst popping simulator is an experience meant to replicate the sensation of being disgusted and simultaneously not being able to look away. Inside the simulator, the player is able to use a mouse pad to pop the cyst.
After a variable amount of time the cyst will produce a larger burst and decrease in size. Once the cyst has popped and has nearly disappeared, the patient expresses a sigh of relief and the player has the option to pop again. I imagine this experience being repulsive to some and stress relieving for others.
Balloon World is a procedurally generated space. The player navigates the space with a balloon animal and inflates the other balloons until they pop.
There is no objective to the game. The world is a space with no consequences. Even though balloons are destroyed, another balloon is generated in its place. The world is a commentary on the disposable and replaceable nature of our society. The player should feel a temporary sense of guilt for popping the balloons, but then instant relief when another balloon is generated.
